Astral is the team’s agent framework, built and in operation on the state’s inference servers. An orchestrator plans each task and calls specialist agents anywhere on the mesh; each specialist is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that exposes one capability. The PanAtlas agent, for example, offers 15 read and search tools over the atlas.
Astral carries out specifications with GitHub Spec Kit, GitHub’s open-source (MIT) toolkit for specification-driven development. Spec Kit turns each specification into a plan and tasks under a governing constitution, so every agent action is reviewable before it runs and attributable afterward.
