Center for Applied Artificial Intelligence

The Center for Applied AI has moved

The University of Kentucky’s Center for Applied Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) has been dissolved, and the center is migrating to the Kentucky Center for Digital Innovation (KCDI) at the University of Louisville. The platforms, models, and projects the center built continue here on Kentucky Open Science.

About CAAI

CAAI worked with researchers and collaborators at every level on transdisciplinary applied research for the health, wellness, and economic future of Kentucky. It was part of UK’s Institute for Biomedical Informatics and brought together the IBI Innovation Core, formed in 2020, and the College of Medicine’s AI in Medicine (AIM) Alliance, funded in 2021.

  • Applying advancements: finding, prototyping, and applying new technology in research and translational science.
  • Developing pipelines: templated modules and pipelines for repeatable, verifiable methods across research domains.
  • Unlocking possibilities: removing the barriers of computational complexity and scale.
  • Bridging departments: a research bridge between fundamental science, engineering, and medicine.
