Cresco is the team’s open-source distributed agent framework (Apache-2.0 since 2015) and the transport for everything on the platform. Its agents link isolated resources, from an edge device or a single server to a campus cluster, the state data center, or a commercial cloud account, into one mesh that starts work and moves datasets or computation across environments under each site’s access controls.
Cresco is the bottom of the stack, and everything else runs over it: GaiaKeep storage, the toolkit platforms, Astral agents, and PanAtlas.
Cresco agents are extended with plugins. The platform’s storage nodes and atlas managers run as Cresco plugins on the mesh.
The documentation covers getting started, the architecture (messaging and routing, cost-aware routing, the data plane, discovery, security and identity), modules and plugins, the API, client libraries, and operations.
Cresco is free and open-source software. Documentation: crescoedge.github.io/docs. Source: github.com/CrescoEdge.
